Nudity and violence

This is something hopefully we'll have an opportunity to go into and discuss more as time goes on, but I have often thought what is it about the United States and its issues with violence and nudity. We can watch a world leader be cut to death by rebels with box cutters but God forbid we see a little side boob and it's the end of the world. We're hardly Victorians in most of us aren't prudes, I like to think we've come along way from the Pilgrims who came to this country caught up in their own religious zealotry. Why are we so uncomfortable with sex and nudity when violence and gore are so completely acceptable. I don't want to try to go to deep into this thinking wise, but is this some kind of subconscious statement that as a nation were more comfortable with death and dying then we are life and love? I hope not, that's not the kind of country I want to live in. I once believed it was just an avenue some politicians used to get into office but I've come to think something else lately. Or at least think it must be something else. I know when I hear people say anything about watching violence they quite clearly say you don't like it change the channel and yet when it comes to nudity that no longer remains the same. The sex, nudity, and language that all needs to be censored completely, legally, by law by the state, why do we live in a nanny state. Again expect an update on this, I'm really not sure I have an answer on this, it's just something I deeply think on and if you have any thoughts on it please feel free to comment I would love to hear them this is something that has confused me for a long time.
