Books and the power of song

I've basically discovered this series of books which takes a subject such as the tv series heroes, or dr. Who, or lost among so many I won't try to list them all and use these subjects as a tool to examine the great philosophical questions, and put together a series of essays by specialists in different areas and have them write essays about these questions, in short it's a series of books written by fans of the source material and using that material they look at science, ethics, philosophy, physics or whatever as a metaphor for their field. As an example in true blood and philosophy they have papers about vampire rights, is it moral to make someone a vampire, ergo minority rights and personhood, the value of choice, especially a choice made with sufficient information to make safely. The range of knowledge this and series like them is incredible and to think I might learn real world applications by reading Simpsons and psychology, and Simpsons and philosophy are kind of humbling. (not to mention makes my independent masters paper much simpler because these people have done all the research based on Socrates, Plato, Kant, Descartes, and all the rest), shhh don't tell. Anyway I really love these books and though they may seem trite and of interest only to fans, they hold real insight into difficult fields made easier to understand using knowledge were comfortable with already. On a deeper note you may note I've avoided the deep garbage of dealing with relationships, religion, and the rest. But I've made a promise to myself that I will try to post a blog a day on what's going on in my life. Yesterday was HOT!!! No buenos, and it's gonna be hot today, with my health stuff that basically puts me in a coma, and I sleep terrible, but what ya gonna do? I did get to see an repeat of AGT I hadn't seen, watching this ex-soldier with nerve damage who stuttered sing so amazingly soulfully it brought tears to my eye, didn't help he sang a song that hits me in the heart, but between the power of the human spirit to perceiver, and the brain to reconfigure itself, well he can barely talk but damn can he sing, why does music and singing use such different parts of the brain, what does that say about neurological evolution? Idk, but I'd like to because that little voice inside my soul tells me it's important.
