Does the Olympics stand for something darker?

I recently had this thought about how the Olympics is a stand-in for war and how that would kind of breakdown, so that's obviously complicated and going to take a while to fully explain in detail, so I hope you find it enjoying and interesting, but in brief if you look at the Olympics and the training that goes into it , how some countries make it a national issue, whereas in other countries such as America, to be fully trained for the Olympics takes an incredible amount of money, time and energy where you pretty much have to sacrifice everything else in your life. So in essence to prepare for the Olympics and the way you do so very much is described by the national beliefs in which you are living. Seeing the new picture of the American uniforms are very militaristic. Maybe this would ake a good story, it's how it started, as a short story, but let's just say what if... Each nation trains their best to thier peak physical perfection. They compete and we see which nations system is better, whose soldier factory creates better troops? If you watch the nations compete your watching potential soldiers compete physically, add strategy and tactics, team sports, and every Olympics is a world war played on a chess board. Am I off on this is it just seeking perfection and representing your country? No, because many compete for other countries, so where back to seeking perfection? What is the Olympics and what does it represent other than a huge capitalistic performance?
